BRING BABY BLANKETS
Bring Baby Blankets as we will have a "Receiving Baby Blanket Shower"
for Mrs. Kelly Johnson's ministry to the women in the mountains of Mexico.
The goal is 300 blankets.
MOUNTAIN BABIES
Mountain Babies is an outreach ministry in the mountainous region of central Mexico. Through the giving of baby blankets, we ae trying to provide for a very real physical need, which gives us the opportunity to share with the people we meet about their greatest need. The main purpose of the mnistry is to reach the people of central Mexico with God's love, creating opportunities to share the Gospel. Many of the families of this area still live the same way they did hundreds of years ago: the women have their babies on mud floors, they cook their meals on wood burning stoves, and they wash their clothes in the river.
In Mexico, it is very common for mothers to have their babies wrapped in a blanket or tied to their backs using a blanket, therefore, it is our desire to give them a necessity that they can cherish for years to come.
In the future, as God provides, we would like to provide each newborn with a pair of socks (booties), miniature fingernail clippers, and a cotton hat to go along with their blanket.
There are no preferences for the color, size, or fabric of the blankets.
